JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Kennett School District seeks applicants for a 7th Grade Communication Arts teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. As part of our innovative 4-day school week schedule, you will have the opportunity to engage students in meaningful learning experiences while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teaches content and skills in English language, literature, composition, and reading, utilizing course of study adopted by the Board of Education and other appropriate learning outcomes.
  • Instructs students in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district.
  • Adapts English material and methods, and implements technology to develop relevant assignments that guide and challenge learners.
  • Provides opportunities for individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
  • Develops standards for critical analysis through discussions and activities, based on a variety of technology.
  • Encourages students to think independently and to express original ideas.
  • Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to provide an orderly, productive classroom environment.
  • Evaluates each student’s progress in reference to knowledge and skills associated with communication arts.   
  • Maintains professional competence through professional development.
